Iran warns regional infrastructure at risk if its security is threatened

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned on Monday that if Iran's security is not assured, no infrastructure in the region will be safe from attacks.

His remarks come as Iran adopts a tougher stance while awaiting the US response to its latest proposals, warning against continued efforts to prevent it from selling oil.

Ghalibaf added, according to Al Arabiya: "In a region where we cannot sell oil, no other party will be able to sell oil either. If our security is not guaranteed, then no infrastructure will remain safe."

Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps escalated its rhetoric against US President Donald Trump, calling him a "big liar" and saying "the American people must be told the truth." The IRGC also stated that the US has no option but to admit defeat and leave the region.

Earlier, the US president denied offering to lift the maritime blockade on Iran's ports or release Iranian assets frozen abroad in exchange for concrete concessions from Tehran on the nuclear issue.
