US must address Iranians with respect, says Iran’s foreign minister Araghchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said there is "no option but to address the Iranian people with respect and seek a solution based on justice and dignity."

According to the Iranian news agency IRNA, Araghchi’s comments on Sunday came in response to US threats of severe economic sanctions. He stated: "The economic measures claimed by Trump are a repeated scenario and the same bullying tactics that have long characterized US policies. In other words, it is a film we have seen many times before, and we know how to confront and deal with it."

The foreign minister added: Regarding military operations and threats of strikes here and there, they have returned once again to these old plans. This shows they are powerless and in a state of desperation; they see no solution or way out before the Iranian people, and continue to recycle the same scenarios and plans.

On the subject of the economic blockade and US threats, Araghchi said: "We have never been afraid. All their actions, whether blockades or other military moves, have failed, and this new approach will also fail."
