US Central Command redirects 45 ships since Iran blockade

US Central Command has announced that its forces have redirected the course of 45 ships since the reinstatement of the maritime blockade on Iran.

In a statement on Tuesday, the command said US forces have so far redirected 45 commercial vessels, disabled two ships, and boarded two others for inspection to ensure compliance with blockade procedures, according to Al Arabiya.

The statement was accompanied by a photo showing a US Navy sailor standing watch in the combat information center aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) as it sails in regional waters in support of the blockade operations imposed on Iran.
