Iran facing toughest economic war conditions, says president

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said his country is experiencing the worst conditions of economic warfare.

Pezeshkian added that Iran is under pressure and living in a state of war, according to Al Arabiya.

His remarks come after the US Treasury Department threatened to expand sanctions on Iran and those dealing with it, warning that any countries engaging with Tehran could also face penalties.

The administration of US President Donald Trump aims to tighten the maritime and economic blockade on Iran to push it into negotiations and force it to relinquish control over navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
