US treasury chief vows to sever Iran's global ties

US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant said the United States will sever all connections between the Iranian regime and the world, and will target any entity that does business with it.

He added that the US is currently imposing unprecedented sanctions on Iran, which will choke the regime in Tehran. He noted that the Iranian currency has collapsed, inflation has exceeded 100 percent, and the authorities are unable to pay their forces' salaries.

Besant also stated that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf have publicly admitted their country's economy is facing serious problems. He concluded: "My message to everyone is to stay away from Iran."
