Trump’s claim that Hormuz Strait is 'American land' is psychological warfare, analyst says

Political analyst Tareq Al-Shami said that US President Donald Trump’s description of the Strait of Hormuz as 'American land' is part of psychological warfare against Iran.

Speaking to Al Arabiya FM, Al-Shami added that everyone knows Trump is fond of the idea of US control over foreign territories, as seen with Greenland, Venezuela, and Canada.

Al-Shami noted that Trump’s statements reflect his desire for Washington to ensure the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
