Trump urges oil companies to cut consumer prices immediately

Former US President Donald Trump has called on oil companies to lower prices for consumers, stating that the time has come to take this step, in a post on his Truth Social account.

Trump said that Mike Wirth, Chairman and CEO of Chevron, discussed the reasons behind the company's success during an interview with anchor Maria Bartiromo, but "failed" to mention the role of Trump's administration in supporting the oil sector.

Trump added that what he described as the "genius, foresight, strength, and stability" of his administration helped spare the US oil industry and the country from difficult situations, considering this a key factor in the success of companies in the sector.

He noted that Chevron had previously left Venezuela but has now returned "bigger and stronger than ever," expecting the company to make "a huge fortune," and said the same applies to other oil companies.
