Bloomberg has reported that the United States and Iran have entered a prolonged conflict, with neither side able to secure a decisive victory and no clear path yet emerging to end the hostilities.

According to the agency's assessment, the conflict has taken the form of recurring cycles of military operations, with Washington and Tehran exchanging strikes but neither able to establish clear strategic superiority. There are currently no strong indications that the confrontation will end soon.

Bloomberg believes that negotiations are unlikely to resolve the fundamental disputes between the two sides for any extended period, meaning the risk of renewed fighting remains even if an agreement to halt military actions is reached.

The agency suggests the most likely scenario is for the conflict to continue at a relatively low intensity, punctuated by periods of calm or unstable truces, before new waves of clashes erupt.

This scenario could also see repeated closures of the Strait of Hormuz, as a final resolution to the dispute remains elusive, reflecting a state of strategic stalemate between Washington and Tehran.

These assessments come weeks after US President Donald Trump declared that the United States controls the Strait of Hormuz and pledged to maintain this position, while Iran insists it holds control over the vital waterway.
