Qatar emir, UK prime minister discuss regional developments by phone

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a phone call today with UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham, during which they reviewed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields.

Both sides emphasized the importance of developing joint cooperation and exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues, particularly the latest developments in the Palestinian issue and efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

They also discussed the recent escalation in the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on the region and international maritime navigation, stressing the need to de-escalate tensions and prioritize dialogue and diplomatic solutions to enhance regional security and stability.
