Israeli authorities bring mobile homes to Kadim settlement ahead of reopening

Palestinian local sources said that Israeli authorities have brought several mobile homes to the Kadim settlement, located east of Jenin, in preparation for its reopening.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the sources added that the arrival of the mobile homes comes amid reports that settlers are preparing to return to live in the settlement, with the move expected to take place on Wednesday, August 19.

The settlement was evacuated in 2005 as part of Israel's unilateral disengagement plan, along with several other settlements in the northern West Bank. These developments come as Israeli measures intensify in Jenin governorate, including settlement expansion, road closures, settler attacks, and restrictions on the movement of residents and access to their agricultural lands.

Separately, Israeli forces today prevented the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) from delivering a water tanker to besieged homes in the village of Qusra, south of Nablus.

Local sources reported that UNICEF attempted to deliver food and medical supplies to three homes in Qusra, but was blocked from bringing in the water tanker.

Abdel Azim Wadi, head of Qusra municipality, said the council has so far been unable to restore electricity and water to the three besieged homes in the town.

Israeli forces had earlier declared the Ras al-Ain area in Qusra a closed military zone, set up positions there, and sent reinforcements to the besieged area after settlers had surrounded the homes for several days.
