Tashkent Islamic Civilization Center launches global Quran calligraphy competition

The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan has announced the launch of a global competition for calligraphers, aiming to create a unique edition of the Holy Quran as part of the international media forum "Islamic Civilization: A New Perspective – New Discoveries" held in the capital, Tashkent.

This competition is part of the "Quran of the World: From Arabic Calligraphy Traditions to the Heritage of the Future" project, through which the center seeks to produce a distinguished Quran manuscript that reflects the diversity and richness of Islamic calligraphic traditions from various countries and schools.

The project allows calligraphers from around the world to participate in writing the Holy Quran, bringing together different schools and styles of Islamic calligraphy in a single artistic and cultural work, and highlighting the historical significance of Arabic calligraphy and its deep connection to Quranic manuscripts throughout the ages.

The international media forum in Tashkent showcased a number of cultural and scientific projects related to the Quran, manuscripts, and Islamic heritage, as part of the Islamic Civilization Center's efforts to preserve and promote cultural heritage using modern approaches.
