GCC foreign ministers hold talks on navigation security in Hormuz

Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, held a consultative meeting today with the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states via video conference.

The ministers exchanged views on current regional developments, ongoing negotiations, and efforts to advance practical understandings that would help reduce tensions and strengthen regional security and stability.

The meeting also discussed ways to intensify coordination and consultation among GCC countries regarding issues related to the freedom and safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring the rights of passage and the smooth flow of ships, trade, and supplies in accordance with international law, and safeguarding the sovereign rights of all Gulf littoral states.

The ministers stressed the importance of continued joint action, prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions, and creating favorable conditions to build trust and reach outcomes acceptable to all parties.
