US secretary of state condemns recent Iranian attacks, praises Oman’s de-escalation efforts

The US State Department announced that Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in a phone call with his Omani counterpart, condemned recent Iranian attacks on commercial vessels and countries in the region.

The State Department added that Blinken praised Oman’s role in reducing tensions in the region during the call.

Blinken also reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
