Yemeni prime minister visits wounded soldiers in Aden, orders enhanced care

Yemeni Prime Minister Shaye Mohsen Al-Zandani on Sunday visited wounded members of the armed forces and other military formations receiving treatment at Aboud Military Hospital in the interim capital, Aden.

According to an official statement, Al-Zandani checked on the health of the injured, listened to their accounts of their injuries and the level of medical care provided, and praised their bravery and sacrifices on the frontlines against the Houthi militia. He stressed that the sacrifices and blood of these heroes would not be forgotten, and that the state and government remain committed to those who were wounded or lost their lives in the line of duty.

The prime minister also received briefings from Minister of Public Health and Population Qasem Buhaibeh, Aboud Military Hospital Director Aref Al-Daari, and the hospital’s medical staff on the services provided to the wounded, ongoing efforts to deliver the best possible care, and the hospital’s needs to increase its capacity.

He instructed authorities to provide the necessary resources for Aboud Military Hospital and to strengthen its medical, technical, and logistical capabilities so it can continue to treat wounded personnel effectively.

Al-Zandani stated, “The wounded in our hospitals today are a symbol of resilience and sacrifice, and their injuries are badges of honor that will remain etched in the nation’s memory.” He affirmed that the government considers caring for the wounded a national duty and direct responsibility, and will continue to ensure they receive comprehensive treatment and care until their full recovery.

The prime minister emphasized the importance of raising the readiness of both military and civilian hospitals and health facilities to respond to the escalating military situation caused by the Houthi militia, which has led to increasing humanitarian and medical needs. He said the government views the current period as exceptional, requiring the highest levels of preparedness and coordination not only on the battlefield but also within the health, service, and humanitarian sectors.

Al-Zandani noted that hospitals and medical facilities are a vital support line for the armed forces, and providing them with the necessary resources is part of the state’s responsibility in managing the consequences of the conflict and protecting both personnel and civilians.

He also highlighted that the declaration of general mobilization and national alert by Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi reflects the gravity of the current stage and the responsibility of every Yemeni to defend the republic and its institutions, support the armed forces and security personnel, and work towards ending the Houthi coup and restoring state authority across all Yemeni territory. He stressed that this national duty is inseparable from the sacrifices of the wounded, the fallen, and those stationed on the frontlines, who are paying the price to end the Iran-backed Houthi coup.

Addressing the wounded, Al-Zandani said, “Your struggle has not been in vain, and your sacrifices will always be remembered as Yemen continues to liberate every inch of its land from Houthi control. The nation you defend is worthy of continued sacrifice until Yemenis achieve security, stability, and the rule of law.” He added that the state, as it fights this existential battle against the Houthi terrorist project, will remain loyal to its heroes, martyrs, and wounded, and that their sacrifices will guide every step toward ending the coup.

For their part, the wounded expressed gratitude for the prime minister’s visit and his concern for their well-being, saying the visit provided significant moral support for them and their comrades on the frontlines. They reaffirmed their commitment to their national duty and readiness to continue fighting to end the Houthi coup, expressing confidence that the sacrifices of the martyrs and wounded would pave the way for restoring state authority and ending the Houthi’s sectarian project.
