Croatian police recover bodies of three Egyptians from Sava River

Croatian authorities have found the bodies of three Egyptians in the Sava River near the capital, Zagreb, a day after their friend reported them missing to the police.

According to Croatian police, the bodies were recovered from the river following an intensive search operation involving fire and rescue units.

The victims’ friend, an Egyptian resident in Croatia, notified police on Monday about the disappearance of his three friends, stating that he last saw them on Sunday when they went swimming in the Sava River.

After receiving the report, police launched a large-scale search of the Sava River and surrounding areas, with the participation of the Zagreb Police Directorate and several other agencies.

On Tuesday morning, authorities located and retrieved two of the bodies from the river, while firefighters recovered the third body later in the day.

Croatian police said investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances and causes of the incident.
