Iraqi seizure of 15 drone launchers a positive step, analyst says

Political analyst Dr. Ayed Al-Mana praised the success of Iraqi forces in seizing 15 drone launch platforms.

Speaking in a radio interview with Al-Ikhbariya, Al-Mana said these steps are promising for strengthening the Iraqi government's role and ensuring that weapons are held exclusively by the state, which would limit the influence of Iran-backed factions and sources of tension with neighboring countries.

He added that the Iraqi government is reinforcing its authority and preventing weapons from being outside state control. Al-Mana stressed the need for the role of Iran-aligned factions to end, highlighting the importance of practical measures, including arresting the leaders of these groups and those who ordered attacks on Saudi territory.

Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi continues to implement security measures to ensure that arms remain under state control and to eliminate the phenomenon of uncontrolled weapons, particularly among Iran-backed groups targeting Iraq’s neighbors and affecting Baghdad’s relations with the Arab and Gulf region.
