Iranian official: Recent clashes remain limited confrontation with US

An Iranian official said recent hostilities remain a limited confrontation between his country and the United States.

The official told Reuters that conditions in the Strait of Hormuz will worsen for vessels violating Iran’s navigation rules.

He warned that for every US attack on Iran, the Iranian response would be dozens of times greater.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps earlier announced that a tanker caught fire after striking two naval mines, allegedly after ignoring Iranian-designated shipping routes. However, US Central Command denied the incident.
