Magnitude 5.9 earthquake strikes off Philippine coast

A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck an area about 32 kilometers southwest of Sarangani in the Philippines today.

The US Geological Survey reported that the quake's epicenter was at a depth of 10 kilometers below the surface.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or material damage.
