Iran launches missiles at regional targets after US strike

Iranian state television announced early Monday that missiles were launched from several locations across the country toward targets in the region, marking the latest escalation after a US strike targeted two Iranian launch platforms on Larak Island.

The broadcaster did not specify the nature or locations of the targets, nor did it disclose the number of missiles fired.

Meanwhile, a US official told Fox News that American forces in Jordan sustained no significant damage from the Iranian attacks, confirming that all missiles aimed at them were intercepted.

The attack comes just hours after explosions were heard in southern Iran, amid reports of Iranian military movements near the Strait of Hormuz.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had earlier vowed to retaliate against the United States for Sunday's strike on Larak Island, warning that Washington would "pay the price" both economically and militarily.

Iran's official news agency and state television quoted the Revolutionary Guard as saying the US attack resulted in Iranian fighters and civilians being killed or wounded, but did not provide casualty figures.
