Jill Biden, the current US First Lady, has revived speculation that her husband, former President Joe Biden, may have been drugged before his June 2024 presidential debate with Donald Trump. She made the remarks during a podcast interview with host Jamie Kern Lima.

Lima asked Jill Biden whether doctors had ruled out the possibility that her husband suffered a stroke on the night of the debate. Jill Biden replied, "Yes, they did. When I was writing my book and recalling those moments, I didn't say, 'Oh my God, did Joe have a stroke?' I just said, 'Is he okay? Is he okay?'"

When asked what her intuition told her about what happened to her husband, Jill Biden said she did not know, noting that "all kinds of theories" exist. She added, "He had been traveling, and I know he was tired and not feeling well that day when I saw him, but there was nothing specific I could point to."

She explained that she had been busy with a two-week tour before the debate and was not with her husband in the days and weeks leading up to it, noting that she saw him only about an hour before the debate.

During the interview, Lima asked Jill Biden if it was possible someone had put something in her husband's drink. The First Lady responded, "Who knows? Who knows?" Joe Biden's office did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment.

The June 2024 debate between Biden and Trump was one of the most consequential moments of the US presidential election, after Biden struggled with stammering, long pauses, and appeared visibly confused.

Biden's performance prompted several of his key supporters to withdraw their backing and call for him to step aside. Calls for him to withdraw from the presidential race in favor of Kamala Harris followed, but as of June 2024, he had not stepped down.
