Arab League condemns calls to storm Al-Aqsa, blames Israel

The General Secretariat of the Arab League on Tuesday condemned calls by Israeli settler organizations to stage mass incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, coinciding with what they refer to as the "anniversary of the Temple's destruction."

In a statement, the Arab League described these calls as a dangerous escalation and a violation of the historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The League said the recent steps are part of Israeli policies aimed at imposing illegal realities in occupied Jerusalem, holding Israel, as the occupying power, fully responsible for the consequences of these violations.

The Arab League also called on the international community—especially the UN Security Council, the United Nations, and UNESCO—to take urgent measures to halt these violations and ensure the protection of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The League reiterated its firm support for the rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
