Netanyahu seeks to avoid clash with Trump ahead of elections, analyst says

Political analyst Ismat Mansour said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to avoid a confrontation with US President Donald Trump ahead of elections, despite delays in implementing the Gaza peace plan.

Speaking to Al Arabiya FM, Mansour added that Netanyahu faces a dilemma because the trust Trump places in him affects his standing with voters.

The analyst continued that if Netanyahu agrees to Trump’s demands, he risks backlash from his coalition supporters, but if he refuses, he could face problems with the US administration. Mansour noted that Netanyahu understands how to interpret the direction of the US administration.
