Multiple explosions reported in Sirik, southern Iran: state media

Iranian state media reported that several explosions were heard in the city of Sirik in Hormozgan province, southern Iran, during the early hours of Monday. The nature and source of the explosions have not yet been disclosed.

In related developments, US President Donald Trump said the United States would "ultimately get out of the conflict with Iran," predicting that hostilities would end before the midterm congressional elections.

Speaking from Ireland on Sunday, Trump said Iran was "very eager to make a deal," but stressed he would not sign an agreement "that is not perfect," indicating his insistence on terms he deems appropriate.

Meanwhile, US House Speaker Mike Johnson said in an interview with NBC News that the war with Iran is causing prices to rise in the United States.

Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, expressed hope that Trump's prediction about the fighting ending after the midterm elections would prove correct.
