Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemns ongoing Israeli ceasefire violations in Gaza

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday condemned Israel for continuing to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, saying that attacks are escalating and more massacres are being committed against Palestinian civilians.

The ministry stated that Israeli authorities persist in breaching the terms of the agreement stemming from former US President Donald Trump’s peace plan, and are shirking their related obligations. This, it said, undermines mediators’ efforts and reflects a lack of political will by the Israeli government to end the assault and honor its commitments.

The ministry added that targeting civilians, vital infrastructure, and humanitarian facilities—along with ongoing policies of killing, destruction, and starvation despite a clear ceasefire agreement—demonstrates that the Israeli government treats the deal as a temporary tool to manage the conflict and reshape realities on the ground. This, it warned, serves Israel’s aims to prolong the war and complete plans for genocide and forced displacement of Gaza’s population.

Calls for urgent international action

In this context, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on the US administration, mediating and guarantor states, and the international community to take effective measures to compel Israel to respect the ceasefire agreement and fulfill its obligations, ensuring the protection of Palestinian civilians.

The ministry also demanded unimpeded delivery of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid to Gaza, leading to a comprehensive and lasting end to the assault, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the start of recovery and reconstruction, and an end to the occupation to realize an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
