Israeli airstrikes kill 9 in southern Lebanon, health ministry says

Lebanon's Ministry of Health announced that nine people were killed and several others wounded in Israeli airstrikes on the southern towns of Ansar and Deir al-Zahrani.

The strikes came overnight after the Israeli military launched attacks on southern Lebanon, claiming they were in response to what it called a serious breach of the agreement by Hezbollah, following an attack on Israeli forces in the security zone.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam stated that handling any military infrastructure is the sole responsibility of the state and does not grant Israel the right to violate Lebanese territory.

He added that the victims of the Israeli airstrike on Ansar were not military infrastructure, and that children and women are not military targets.
