Pakistan says it is coordinating with allies on US-Iran mediation efforts

Pakistan’s foreign ministry has said it is coordinating with friendly countries on mediation efforts between the United States and Iran.

The ministry noted that efforts are ongoing to resolve the Middle East crisis, adding that Army Chief Asim Munir visited Tehran as part of these mediation initiatives, according to Al Arabiya.

Last Tuesday, Pakistan’s military announced that Munir held talks in Iran focused on measures to prevent further escalation of the conflict and to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The military added in a statement that Munir discussed regional peace and ways to achieve negotiated settlements to disputes.
