Iran, Oman hold positive talks on Strait of Hormuz navigation

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that talks between Iran and Oman aimed at organizing safe maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz are taking place in a positive atmosphere.

According to Mehr News Agency, Baghaei stated: "These discussions are being pursued as a dialogue between the two coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz, focusing on establishing safe inbound and outbound routes for ships. These routes take into account the national security considerations of both Iran and Oman, as well as ensuring sovereign rights."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson added that the talks have so far been assessed as positive on both technical and political levels, noting that Iran, in cooperation with Oman, is working to develop the necessary mechanisms for future arrangements to manage maritime traffic in this strategic passage.

He also indicated that the final results of these discussions will be announced once they are fully summarized and finalized.
