Iran finalizing Oman agreement Monday, Hormuz Strait to remain open under conditions

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that the "final touches" on an agreement between Iran and Oman will be completed on Monday, noting that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open under international law, provided the United States ends its aggression.

According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, Pezeshkian added: "We have agreed on details of new routes for entering and exiting the Strait of Hormuz, and on establishing a temporary maritime corridor in the Strait."

The Iranian president stressed that the region will not enjoy security as long as US forces are present, urging regional countries to engage in dialogue and make decisions regarding their own security.

Pezeshkian had previously hinted at the possibility of reopening the Strait of Hormuz, linking this move to the condition that Washington ends its maritime blockade and military attacks on Iranian ports.
