Political analyst highlights three weaknesses of Houthi leader Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi

Military expert Mohammed Al-Basha has identified three key weaknesses of Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen's Houthi movement.

Al-Basha said that Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi suffers from delusions of grandeur and has become increasingly isolated from the outside world. He added that the group is ideologically bound by a combination of Zaydi doctrine and secretive jihadist thought, influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood.

He further noted that arrogance and overconfidence can sometimes cloud judgment, pointing out that the Houthis tend to exaggerate their own strength, according to Al-Hadath.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni delegation participating in the multinational maritime coalition, led by Rear Admiral Abdulkhaleq Mansour, called for unified international efforts and enhanced regional coordination to address threats to maritime security.

In his remarks during the fourth session of the coalition's fourth defense planning meeting, Rear Admiral Mansour stressed the importance of providing operational and technical support to restore the readiness of Yemen's naval forces and enable them to protect territorial waters and international shipping lanes.

He noted that ongoing threats by the Iran-backed Houthi militia in the Red Sea, Bab Al-Mandab Strait, and Gulf of Aden have directly impacted the safety of international navigation and disrupted global trade and supply chains.
