US, UK foreign ministers reaffirm commitment to safe passage in Strait of Hormuz

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with his British counterpart, Ed Miliband, yesterday in Washington, D.C.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their countries' shared commitment to ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and stressed the importance of preventing Iran from developing or acquiring nuclear weapons.

They also reiterated the need to address the humanitarian situation in Gaza, continue efforts toward lasting peace, and discussed a range of issues of mutual interest.
