Iran rejects proposals limiting its full control over Strait of Hormuz

An Iranian official told Reuters on Monday that the country rejects any proposal that does not grant it complete control over entry and exit from the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran has turned down a proposal from Oman for joint regional management of the strait, undermining hopes for a swift diplomatic breakthrough in the ongoing conflict.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most vital waterways for oil and gas exports and is under constant international scrutiny.
