Yemeni forces down 15 Houthi drones, foil attacks on Mocha port

Yemeni forces have thwarted Houthi attacks targeting Mocha port and civilian facilities along the western coast, coinciding with an attempted maritime assault off the Wahja coast near Mocha, a Yemeni military source told Al Hadath TV.

According to the source, the Houthis launched 44 drones toward Mocha port, with Yemeni forces successfully shooting down 15. The missile strike on the port caused a fire inside the facility.

The source added that the Houthi attacks also targeted civilian infrastructure on the western coast, while artillery shelling continued against Houthi positions on the western fronts of Taiz. Dozens of drone strikes were also carried out against Houthi sites in the area.

Elsewhere, the source reported that Yemeni forces foiled a Houthi maritime attack off Wahja near Mocha, stating that the assault involved manned boats and drones, resulting in the deaths of eight Houthi fighters during the attempt.

The source noted that explosive-laden boats targeted an oil tanker near Bab Al-Mandab, confirming that three out of six attacks on Mocha port were successfully repelled.

According to the military source, these operations coincided with ongoing strikes on Houthi positions along the western coast, as Yemeni forces continue to counter both aerial and maritime attacks in the region.
