Yemeni presidential adviser: State institutions key to protecting citizens’ rights

Mohammed Al-Amiri, adviser to the chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, said state institutions are the true guarantor of citizens’ rights and interests.

He told Al-Ikhbariya that the Houthi militia has brought Yemenis nothing but poverty, destruction, and ruin. On the religious front, he said, the group has only spread distortion, misinformation, and superstitions among its misled followers, and has failed to provide education, healthcare, or development.

Al-Amiri stressed the need for Yemenis to rally around the country’s political leadership in a show of popular unity, urging them to overcome any differences and reject ideas that divide the Yemeni people.
