Egyptian sources deny drone attack on Damietta port

Egyptian security sources told Al Arabiya that Damietta port was not targeted by drones.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources confirmed that a fire broke out on a regasification vessel and a storage ship docked at Damietta port.

According to the ministry, the situation was immediately addressed in line with approved emergency and rapid response plans, involving the relevant authorities and on-site firefighting and safety teams.

Karem Badawi, Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, visited the scene to monitor the situation on the ground, ensure firefighting and safety operations were proceeding as planned, and verify that all safety procedures and coordination among the concerned agencies were being followed until the incident was fully contained.
