Arab Parliament condemns Israeli targeting of UNRWA facilities in Jerusalem

Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi strongly condemned the Israeli national security minister’s raid on the Qalandia Institute, which is affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). He denounced the seizure, evacuation of staff, and the start of demolition work at the facility, as well as attacks on other UNRWA offices in Jerusalem.

In a statement on Monday, Al-Yamahi said this escalation constitutes a blatant violation of UN immunities and an assault on its institutions and resolutions. He called on the international community and the UN Security Council to take immediate and binding action to halt Israeli attacks on UN facilities and hold those responsible accountable.

He stressed that attempts by Israel to target UNRWA will not succeed in ending the Palestinian refugee issue. Al-Yamahi affirmed that the Arab Parliament will continue its efforts to defend the agency, its UN mandate, and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right of return and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
