Arab Parliament Speaker Saad bin Sulayb Al-Otaibi emphasized that the strength of joint Arab action stems from unity of positions, coordinated efforts, and turning aspirations into achievements. He noted that the Arab Parliament is moving toward a more institutional approach to deepen parliamentary diplomacy, working closely with Gulf legislative councils to enhance parliamentary presence and unify stances in support of Arab causes.

He made these remarks during the opening of the 20th regular meeting of the heads of Shura, Representatives, National, and Ummah Councils of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, hosted by Saudi Arabia and chaired by Shura Council Chairman Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh.

Al-Otaibi stated that Gulf security and stability are integral to the security of the Arab world, and any threat to Gulf states requires a unified Arab response. He reiterated the Arab Parliament's condemnation of the terrorist Houthi militia's attacks against Saudi Arabia, including attempts to target holy sites, airports, civilian areas, and economic facilities.

He affirmed the Arab Parliament's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for its legitimate measures to protect its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He also warned of the dangers posed by disruptions to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al-Mandab, describing them as threats to the global economy and emphasizing that safeguarding maritime navigation is a shared international responsibility.

The Arab Parliament Speaker stressed that Gulf parliamentary work, with its deep-rooted legacy and rich experience, is a key pillar of joint Arab action, strengthening its presence and impact. He underscored the importance of unified positions and safeguarding Arab interests amid rapid changes and growing challenges, foremost among them the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, as well as protecting the sovereignty, security, and stability of Arab states.
