Yemeni analyst: Major military shift since formation of Presidential Leadership Council

Yemeni political analyst Hassan Ghaleb has praised the role of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council in his country.

Speaking in an interview with Al Ekhbariya Radio, Ghaleb said indicators point to a significant military and political transformation in Yemen since the council was established.

He added that since the council's formation, a clear shift has emerged, especially this year, with the unification of operations rooms and military decision-making, as well as advances in training and arming Yemeni forces.

The analyst noted that among these indicators are the armed forces' acquisition of advanced weaponry, the activation of the air force with the appointment of a commander, and the introduction of drones into the military.

He continued that Iran-backed Houthi militias have since attempted to escalate tensions on the western coast and in Taiz, driven by Iranian ambitions, and have also sought to target Yemeni armed forces after observing their qualitative development.
