Zelensky approves long-range operations against Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has approved the launch of new long-range operations in response to Russian attacks, stating that his country is preparing to expand its capabilities in this area.

Writing on X, Zelensky said the top priority is to broaden the use of successful practices already implemented by combat brigades and effective brigade support services as widely as possible.

The Ukrainian president added that he discussed with military leaders a review of the regulatory framework and mechanisms for recruiting foreign volunteers to serve in Ukraine’s defense forces. He expressed gratitude to "all foreign volunteers who have already made significant contributions to defending Ukraine, its independence, and its people’s right to live as they should in a sovereign state."

Zelensky continued: "We have many solutions that have proven effective in field operations, particularly in successfully intercepting Shahed missiles. We are working to ensure their systematic deployment, ongoing effectiveness in downing these targets, and large-scale production as needed."
