Kuwait’s ambassador to US denies Wall Street Journal report on involvement in Iran operations

Kuwait’s ambassador to the United States, Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, has denied claims in a Wall Street Journal report alleging Kuwait’s involvement in military operations against Iran, describing the allegations as "entirely false."

In an official letter to the newspaper’s editorial board, the ambassador stated that the report, published on July 24, was inaccurate and contained false information.

She affirmed that Kuwait has not participated in any military operations against Iran, nor has it allowed its territory, airspace, or territorial waters to be used for any offensive actions against neighboring countries.

She emphasized that Kuwait’s position throughout the regional crisis has remained consistent and clear, based on respect for international law, upholding state sovereignty, promoting good neighborly relations, and resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.

The ambassador noted that, due to its geographic location, Kuwait has for decades borne humanitarian and economic consequences of conflicts, and believes regional security is achieved through de-escalation, restraint, and serious, sustained diplomatic dialogue.

She called on the Wall Street Journal to correct its report to accurately reflect Kuwait’s position, stressing that factual reporting is a professional responsibility and essential for maintaining regional stability and preventing public misperception on issues of international peace and security.
