Iraq in talks with US to exempt airports from Iran flight restrictions

The office of the Iraqi prime minister announced on Monday that the government is holding talks with the United States to exempt certain Iraqi airports from restrictions imposed on Iranian airlines.

The statement said easing these restrictions would allow Iranian flights to resume to Iraq in order to meet humanitarian needs.

It added that Baghdad aims to facilitate the movement of passengers and goods, especially given the humanitarian circumstances that require cooperation between the two countries.
