IRGC leaders hindering Iran talks, says US Senator Rubio

US Senator Marco Rubio said that leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are obstructing negotiations with Iran.

He added that the most recent meeting with Iran was positive but did not result in a breakthrough, serving as a continuation of previous discussions, according to Asharq.

Rubio also stated that the actions of the Houthis in Yemen pose a serious problem, and all countries in the region face threats from Iran's proxies. He noted there is consensus that Iran's activities in the region are malign, and there is international support for US sanctions on Iran.

A senior Iranian official told Reuters that ending hostilities permanently and lifting the US maritime blockade are among Iran's main priorities.
