Yemeni navy destroys Houthi explosive boat in Bab Al-Mandab

As part of ongoing efforts to secure the Bab Al-Mandab Strait and address potential threats, a Yemeni military source announced on Saturday that Yemeni naval forces had destroyed an explosive boat belonging to the Houthi militia.

The maritime sector of the joint forces operating along the western coast also removed the threat of a sea mine planted by the Houthis in Bab Al-Mandab.

According to the military source, cited by Al Arabiya, the mine was discovered in a critical area of the international shipping lane before naval forces disabled it and took necessary measures to eliminate the danger. The source described the presence of the mine as a serious escalation in Houthi threats to the security of navigation in one of the world’s most important maritime corridors.

Meanwhile, Yemeni emergency forces announced on Saturday that they had shot down an attack drone belonging to the Houthis as it approached the Wadiyah border area, with no injuries or damage reported.
