Fourteen infants killed in Islamabad hospital fire

At least 14 infants died in a fire at PIMS Hospital in Islamabad on Wednesday, according to Pakistan's Geo TV. The blaze was reportedly triggered by a malfunction in the air conditioning system.

Reuters reported that the fire broke out after a compressor in one of the air conditioning units exploded inside the hospital's neonatal ward, citing rescue team sources.

Rescue officials said the fire has been brought under control and extinguished, with specialized teams now conducting cooling operations at the site.
