Kuwait thwarts Daesh terror plot targeting key facility

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced it has foiled a terrorist plot that was targeting a vital facility in the country.

In a statement, the ministry said security forces, represented by the State Security apparatus, thwarted the plot and arrested a citizen affiliated with the Daesh terrorist group before he could carry out the attack, following extensive surveillance and monitoring.

Investigations revealed the suspect had received training in making explosives and drones, and had built a drone intended for use in the planned attack on the vital facility. Legal procedures have been taken against him, and he has been referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation and necessary action in accordance with the law.

The Ministry of Interior affirmed that its security agencies will continue proactive operations to detect and confront any activities or plots that threaten the country’s security and stability. It stressed that it will not tolerate anyone who seeks to harm the nation’s security or the safety of citizens and residents, and will deal firmly with any suspicious activities in accordance with the law.
