Iran denies reopening Strait of Hormuz or changing its policy

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has stated that the country has not reopened the Strait of Hormuz nor changed its policy regarding the strategic waterway.

The Guard added that the Strait of Hormuz remains under Iranian supervision and management, according to Asharq.

Reuters quoted a senior Iranian source as saying there are no discussions about "extending a ceasefire" with the United States.

The source explained that Tehran does not consider there to be an official start date for a "ceasefire," and therefore nothing to extend. He noted that the United States violated the temporary agreement 48 hours after it was reached, and then withdrew from it a few days later.
