Trump warns US will destroy Iranian vessels laying new mines in Hormuz

US President Donald Trump announced that the United States has informed Iran it will immediately destroy any ship or boat that attempts to lay new mines in the Strait of Hormuz, stressing a policy of "zero tolerance" for mine-laying in the vital waterway.

Trump said the US Navy has reported the removal and destruction of all mines in the Strait of Hormuz, adding that the United States is monitoring "every inch" of the strait using its Space Force.

The US president also stated that Washington is closely monitoring Jabal al-Fas, as well as the nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.

Trump emphasized that any new attempt to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with an immediate response from the United States, according to his statement.
