Trump warns Iran: any ship laying mines in Hormuz will be destroyed

US President Donald Trump announced that the United States has informed Iran it will immediately destroy any ship or boat that attempts to lay new mines in the Strait of Hormuz, stressing a policy of "zero tolerance" for mine-laying in the vital waterway.

Trump said the US Navy has reported removing and destroying all mines in the Strait of Hormuz, adding that the United States is monitoring "every inch" of the strait through its Space Force.

The US president also stated that Washington is closely monitoring Jabal Al-Fas, as well as the nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.

Trump emphasized that any new attempt to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with an immediate US response, according to his announcement.
