Trump says Netanyahu will not be arrested during US visit

Former US President Donald Trump said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested during his stay in the United States.

Trump's remarks come days after New York City Council member Zohran Mamdani stated he was still exploring the legal aspects of a possible arrest of Netanyahu during his planned visit to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly this fall.

Mamdani considers Netanyahu a war criminal under the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court. However, Mamdani does not have the legal authority to direct police to detain a foreign official in the United States.
