US fighter jets launch from USS George H.W. Bush in Arabian Sea, no military operation announced

The US aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush was seen in the Arabian Sea after US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Saturday released images of US Navy fighter jets taking off from the carrier.

CENTCOM did not specify the nature or destination of the fighter jet missions in its post on X, nor did it announce any specific military operation linked to the launches.

CENTCOM stated that the carrier continues to operate in the Arabian Sea in support of security in the Middle East, as the United States has recently increased its naval and air presence in the region.

Washington has repeatedly stated that its military presence in the region aims to protect US forces and interests and to support regional security. The Arabian Sea holds strategic importance due to its proximity to the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, as well as its connection to shipping lanes leading toward the Indian Ocean.

The carrier's appearance comes as CENTCOM announced on Thursday the launch of the first multinational, multi-domain task force for attack drones, named Falcon Strike, with participation from the United States and regional partners.

CENTCOM explained that the new task force will use unmanned offensive systems operating in the air, on the sea surface, and underwater, as part of efforts to expand joint military capabilities in the Middle East.

The presence of the USS George H.W. Bush in the Arabian Sea comes amid ongoing regional alert and tension, with CENTCOM yet to disclose the nature of the missions involving the fighter jets shown in the released images.
