Russia claims strikes on four cargo ships in Mykolaiv and Yuzhny ports

Russia announced it had targeted four ships in the Black Sea, claiming they were transporting supplies to Ukrainian forces, while a Ukrainian drone attack in the Moscow region resulted in casualties and injuries.

The governor of Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, said five people were killed and six others injured after a Ukrainian drone strike hit the Russian region near Moscow.

Vorobyov wrote on Telegram that a warehouse caught fire before firefighters managed to extinguish it, adding that a private house and a car were also damaged in the attack.

According to Reuters, Russia said on Sunday that seven people, including three children, were killed and around 40 others injured at the Black Sea resort of Gelendzhik following what it described as a deliberate Ukrainian drone attack on civilians.

Video footage, cited by Reuters, appeared to show a Ukrainian drone crashing into a crowded beach area near Gelendzhik, causing a loud explosion.

In a related development, Russia's RIA news agency, citing the defense ministry on Monday, reported that Russian forces targeted two ships in the Ukrainian port of Mykolaiv and two in the port of Yuzhny, claiming they were being used to transport supplies to the Ukrainian military. Reuters was unable to independently verify the Russian defense ministry's claims.

Reuters also reported that Ukraine has intensified long-range attacks deep inside Russian territory in recent months, mainly targeting oil refineries and e-commerce warehouses, describing the campaign as an effort to force Russians to feel the consequences of the war.
