Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that its forces targeted a Ukrainian military industry facility in the Kyiv region.

In a statement carried by Sputnik, the ministry said the Russian military continues its attacks on sites and personnel in Ukraine.

The statement added that Russian forces struck the "Fire Point" military industry facility in the Kyiv area earlier in the day.

According to the ministry, the facility produces chemicals used in the manufacture of cruise missiles, and drones were used in the attack.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said earlier today that he had ordered the military to increase long-range drone attacks on Russia to 1,000 strikes per day, up from around 300 currently.

In his evening address, according to Reuters, he said: "There must be more; there is a specific goal, and we will accomplish this mission."
